It takes a village to raise a child, and create a #PeopleFirst community.
#PeopleFirst is more than happy, fun stories, it’s about building a community where we can all live and work together. They say it takes a village to raise a child, but in this case, it just took the help of a caring co-worker.
Lisa, a Loan Assistant at Choice Financial, knew that she had a full day at the office. It was that time of the season where things were really ramping up. At some point during her busy day, she got a phone call from her son’s school that every parent has gotten at some point or another, often at the worst possible time. Lisa’s son Collin was sick with an upset stomach and she needed to go pick him up.
Dawn “The Village” Dewitz, a Loan Operations Specialist, stepped up to the plate to help take care of Lisa’s tasks without even thinking twice. Not only did she help Lisa with her workload, but also took the time to run out and pick up a tried and true secret weapon against stomach bugs, aloe juice. Lisa’s husband swung by the bank to pick up the aloe from Dawn, but Lisa knows how far Dawn would have gone for her, “Dawn would have run it out to my house; And I live 15 minutes out of town. That’s just the kind of person Dawn is. She is not only a great co-worker, but an even better friend. I don’t know what I would do without her.”
When asked about the details, Dawn mentioned, “This is just the kind of thing we do every day, so it’s hard to recall this one specific story.” Then Lisa chimed in, “Yes, that week alone she helped me out twice with situations like that!”
They say it takes a village to raise a child. Choice Team Members like Dawn make that village not only a great place to raise a family, but also create friendships that are as close as family.
