Opening Doors Through Communication, One Wish At a Time

At Choice Bank, we believe some of the most meaningful moments happen when a community comes together to support one another. Through our Wishing Well program, we’re honored to help make a difference in the lives of individuals and families across the communities we serve.

Recently, a wish was submitted by a Belfield teacher for one of her students, Cord. Cord is non-speaking and relies on a communication device to help him express himself and connect with the people around him. As his needs evolved, Mara recognized that an updated device would better support his communication both in the classroom and at home.

For many of us, communication is something we rarely have to think about. For Cord, having the right tools can open doors to learning, connection, independence, and everyday interactions that many of us take for granted.

Through the Wishing Well program, Choice Bank was able to not only provide a new iPad to serve as his new communication device, but also a gift basket of Cord’s favorite snacks and toys to make the start of the new school year even more special. While the technology itself is important, what mattered most was making sure Cord knew he is supported by a community that sees him, believes in him, and is cheering him on every step of the way.

We’re grateful to Mara for advocating for Cord and helping bring this wish forward! Most of all, we’re excited for Cord and the new opportunities this device will provide as he continues to learn, grow, and connect with those around him.
