The Thielen Foundation has donated $2.5 million to Minnesota causes over the years. The funds raised at this gala will be reinvested in our communities to give underserved youth in the upper Midwest the resources they need to excel both on the field and throughout their lives. Below are recent initiatives by The Thielen Foundation to make our communities stronger.
Red Lake High School Weight Room
For the past several years, The Thielen Foundation has annually upgraded a weight room for a Minnesota public high school. For 2023, the Foundation has chosen Red Lake High School. Their current weight room is hardly used by athletes and gym classes are not able to utilize the room due to old and unsafe equipment. The Thielen Foundation desires to inspire pride and confidence in these students and offer a top-notch facility with excellent equipment to promote health and wellness among students.
Support of Behavioral Health Patients
The Thielen Foundation was one of the first organizations to stand alongside the behavioral health patients at M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital. These patients have greatly benefited from journals, yoga mats, and a brand new Thielen Foundation Exercise Room. In 2023, the Thielen Foundation will invest further by building out two new Sensory Rooms for patients to work on touch and texture therapy and learn ways to manage anxiety, depression, and other chronic symptoms.
Student Leadership Scholarships
The Thielen Foundation inspires high school athletes both on the field and in the classroom through student athlete leadership scholarships. In 2023, Thielen Foundation is set to award 25 students a scholarship, which is coach-nominated and based on their consistent participation in their sport since 9th grade, positive leadership on the field and in the classroom, and successful grades in class. Their hope is that the scholarships encourage and inspire the recipients to go and reach their full potential.
With an overarching theme on youth development, the Thielen Foundation aims to create programs that serve, educate and inspire individuals so they’re equipped and empowered to reach their full potential in life. The Thielen motto to “achieve your full potential” is a guiding principle lived out by Adam every day and is meant to inspire and motivate individuals to overcome challenges and adversity so they are able to tackle some of life’s biggest goals.
